Imperial Launches Two New Cookware Ranges, Giftware and Kids’ Baking Set Under Ready Steady Cook Brand

June 2006

Following the unprecedented success of its Ready Steady Cook cookware range, launched at The Spring Fair 2005, Imperial, the UK's fastest growing home and kitchenware supplier, is extending this popular brand with two exciting new cookware ranges.  The Ready Steady Cook bakelite and copper-based cookware are being previewed alongside a kids’ make & bake set and kitchen textiles at Exclusively Housewares 2006.

Both new cookware ranges will be available in a five-piece set comprising a 14cm milk pan, 16, 18 and 20cm saucepans with lid and a 24cm open fry pan.  The new stainless steel cookware range, featuring encapsulated stainless steel with bakelite handles, retails at £39.99 HSP.    The copper-based cookware range features encapsulated stainless steel finished in copper, renowned for its efficiency for both heat conduction and cleaning.  Styled rivets on pan and lid handles reinforce the traditional look of the copper-based range which retails at £59.99.  With the exception of copper, all stainless steel products are suitable for all types of hob, including induction and come complete with a 10-year guarantee.

The Ready Steady Cook make & bake set marks an exciting new venture into kids’ bakeware for Imperial.  Retailing at HSP £9.99, the set is being launched specifically to coincide with the forthcoming Ready Steady Cook For Kids cook book published for the BBC by Hamlyn and available in July.  The set features a mixing bowl, spatula, measuring cups, cookie cutters, and a baking tray along with a selection of recipes taken from the book.  Exclusively Housewares also sees Imperial’s launch into kitchen textiles with the preview of a Ready Steady Cook kids’ fabric apron and bandana set, also retailing at £9.99.

Also previewing at Exclusively Housewares is the Ready Steady Cook Men Only wine and dine cooking kit.  This novel cookery gift set contains the essential kitchen tools, recipes and advice for preparing, cooking and enjoying a delicious stir-fry meal in just 20 minutes.  Specifically aimed at the uninitiated male, the set retails at £19.99.

All new Ready Steady Cook products will be available from October 2006, in time for the key Christmas sell-in period.

"The Ready Steady Cook range continues to perform exceptionally well in leading mail order, independent and high street retailers including Argos, Robert Dyas, The Co-op and Woolworths", says Imperial Commercial Director, John Newcomb.  "By offering such a great choice of cookware, kitchenware and giftware as well as the launch into kids’ cookery products, we are very confident we will further strengthen what is rapidly becoming one of the UK's leading kitchenware brands."

Ready Steady Cook, hosted by Ainsley Harriot, is one of the UK's most popular daytime TV cookery shows.  It has attracted over 3 million viewers in its last series alone and 3.3 billion viewers in the last 10 years.  Ready Steady Cook is an Endemol UK production for BBC 2.
