- The Soehnle (pronounced ‘Zernler’) company was founded in 1868, in Murrhardt, Germany, to produce analogue scales for both domestic and business use
- In 2001, Soehnle was acquired by Leifheit AG, the largest home and kitchenwares Company in Germany and one of the largest in Europe
- Leifheit’s annual turnover stands at €296M (£197M), with household products accounting for €225M (£150M)
- Europe’s largest supplier of domestic scales, Soehnle accounts for 23% of Leifheit’s total sales of household products, and has an annual turnover of €52M (£35M)
Soehnle holds a 65% share of the Kitchen scale market and a 48% share of the Bathroom scale market in Germany
